Wkly Hit List, 9/26/2025

One week ago, I expressed my disheartening over the decision ABC and Disney make to pull Jimmy Kimmel Live off the air. But now one week later, the show is back and it’s once again the subject of this week’s Inside Scoop. I'm gonna make this very quick because there's not much to say, ever since the decision was made to pull the show off, there's been a major outcry from people who believe it was done as an attack on free speech. We know that current administration has it in for anyone who talks bad about them, even if it's just a joke, they demand respect. Before his suspension, Jimmy Kimmel talked about the shooter responsible for Charlie Kirk's death, and the far-right was none too pleased about it, then the FCC got involved and made threats to ABC and Disney. But over the weekend last week, reports read that ABC and Disney were in talks with Jimmy Kimmel on getting his show back on the air as people had been voicing their feelings through social media, protest, and canceling their subscriptions for Disney Plus. I liked to point out that a new episode of FakeTV Box, which will premiere this weekend, will feature KlicKNet's response to Jimmy Kimmel Live being brought back, so stay tuned.

The funny thing is, the decision to end the suspension was made this past Monday and just before we were about to film this new FakeTV Box, so we had to quickly rewrite our comments about Kimmel so they matched perfectly with the ending of his suspension. Even better than that, Jimmy Kimmel Live returned the next night on Tuesday, and get this, over 6.26 million viewers tuned in to see Jimmy do his thing, as well as talked about the last few days for him. He pointed out last Tuesday how the threats by the FCC are a clear indication that the President and his administration will go to great lengths to extinguish free speech from America, and at the same time addressed his own comments about the Charlie Kirk incident. Watch the entire monologue and by the time it gets to the end, you'll see just how serious Jimmy is.

Jimmy Kimmel is Back!

Even more heart-warming than those last words is the fact that the entire monologue has gained over 21 Million viewers across YouTube and social platforms, and the episode itself is now the the most-watched episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live in history. It's same to say that I was one of the 6.26 Million Viewers who saw Jimmy Kimmel get back to work. We just learned that starting today, Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair Broadcasting resume airing Jimmy Kimmel Live! on their ABC affiliates after they had preempted the show over the late-night host’s comments about Charlie Kirk’s killer. Their decisions end a short-lived protest that started last week, and its worth pointing out that Jimmy Kimmel's record ratings were despite the preempting by Nexstar and Sinclair. I guess they saw how well the show can do without them airing it so they decided to get back into the action. You can bet that the President is not too happy right now that both Nexstar and Sinclair folded, and can you imagine how he'd react if CBS reversed its decision to cancel The Late Show with Stephen Colbert which won a Emmy Award not too long ago? All and all, this was an incredible week and you can almost say that the American people won this battle over free speech rights; and just to rehash something former VP Kamala Harris once said: "When We Fight, We Win."
