Wkly Hit List, 12/5/2025

Here we are KlicKNettars, the final month of 2025. So much is in the works at KlicKNet Productions, we've a little FakeTV Box left in us this year, we've got big plans for Special Presentation Video meant to play tribute to KlicKNet's 10th Anniversary, and we're not too worried about Rhodey, NY because we have a whole new year to see if we can film it. Of course, that can only happen if people are kind to donate funding to our GoFundMe page, though we'll be trying new ways to encourage people to do so. Personally, I can't wait for 2025 to be over, all throughout New Year's Eve I was a nervous wreck about this year, but I have a very good feeling that I'm gonna take it real easy in a few weeks on December 31st. I also have a very good feeling that you KlicKNettars are gonna love the newest 5-Day Rounder, which includes a Kwame's Pick that will leave you on the floor laughing.

It's really hard to keep up with all the news going on in the entertainment industry, but here at KlicKNet, we have to do the best that we can to keep our KlicKNettars posted. If I would be real for just a moment, I didn't realize that Disney and Pixar has dropped the official trailer for Hoppers several weeks ago. You can bet that FakeTV Box will talk about it in a future episode, though you're have to wait till the new year to see it, however you could make your reaction video on it after you watch this week's Sneak Peek of the Week.

Hoppers | Official Trailer

Our Inside Scoop this week is BREAKING NEWS that started overnight, NETFLIX has beaten Paramount and Comcast to win the Bidding War for Warner Bros. Discovery and will buy its Film and TV Studios and Libraries, as well as its Streaming Division in a deal worth $82.7 Billion. The transaction period is set to be 12 to 18 months, meaning that deal could be finalized one year from now [late 2026 or early 2027]. But there are more details behind this that we need to get into, and we're gonna get into them right now.

We recently started a conversation on an episode of FakeTV Box, in which we reviewed Warner Bros. Discovery being in the midst of a spilt decision, no pun intended. Over the summer, the company seemed to be headed towards splitting into two companies in which one will take over Warner Bros' Studios and Streaming Divisions, while the other will be in charge of the Cable Networks and Digital assets. But for most of the fall season, WBD has put itself up for sale and three major entities have thrown their names in the hat to see who can merge with Warner Bros. Those three entities I mentioned are Paramount, which merged with Skydance earlier this year, Comcast who spun off their own cable networks into a new company while keeping NBC, NBC News, Peacock, and the Universal Theme Park Resorts, and of course Netflix who has doesn't own its own film studio; by the way, I said own its own, LMFAO!

To say that it was anybody's game when it came to buying Warner Bros. Discovery would be a understatement, but reports came out yesterday saying that Netflix made the highest bid to buy the company, leaving Paramount and Comcast right into the dust. While Comcast is handling it like a mature adult at a fancy restaurant, Paramount is becoming that spoiled brat at the dinner table that you just wish you could punch in the face if he doesn't shuts up. Paramount wrote a letter calling the Warner Bros. Sale Process 'Unfair' and 'Tainted', they also believe that Warner Bros. Discovery was playing favorites with Netflix, and you know it's pretty ironic that Paramount would accuse WBD of playing favorites, especially when months ago they chose Stephen Colbert over Donald Trump.

Anyway, the details of the WB-Netflix merger are as followed that: Netflix will acquire the Warner Bros. film and television studios, HBO, HBO Max, DC Entertainment, DC Studios and all their respective content libraries which include IPs such as Harry Potter, Batman, Superman, Looney Tunes, Game of Thrones, Friends, and The Big Bang Theory. If you look at what Netflix has from Stranger Things to Wednesday and KPop Demon Hunters, having all of these IPs under one roof is gonna change the entertainment landscape without question. I should also point that Netflix is a streaming partner for WWE and it just acquire HBO Max, the streaming partner for AEW, but it doesn't seem like the deal will affect both wrestling companies in any way at all. But what will be affected by the deal is the Global Networks currently owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, and I would have told you on FakeTV Box that the company will split away from its Cable TV Channels and sell itself to another major entity, you would have thought I was crazy/ But of course, it's not all that crazy because Netflix has shown more interest in Warner Bros. alone than with the Discovery side of things, specifically CNN, TNT, TBS, HGTV, Food Network, and Discovery Channel.

The deal won't close until Q3 2026 and until Warner Bros Discovery follows through on its initial plan to split its Cable Networks into separate and new public traded company: Discovery Global. For WBD to be able to do that and still be bought by Netflix is extraordinary, despite what the people who oppose the deal say, it is absolute extraordinary. This reminds of a scene from Young Justice: Phantoms between Doctor Fate and Zatanna which you can see in its entirely through this link, and if Netflix is a "true fan" of Young Justice, then hopefully they will give us more seasons with these kind of moments. So now I wanna talk about one person who is opposed to the WB-Netflix merger; that being Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren. She has called it "An Anti-Monopoly Nightmare," although I'm surprised that she didn't went and call it "An Anti-Monopoly Nightmare on Elm Street," because it'd be a great title for the next Freddy Krueger Movie. But Senator Warren isn't wrong to call the deal a nightmare as people have a lot of questions about it. Like, Will it lead to James Gunn's DCU Franchise going up in smoke faster than the DC Synderverse, Will we see the DC Synderverse revived if the WB-Netflix merger is finalized? And will WB Movies have shorter release days in theater? Netflix has claimed in a statement that it will not interfere with Warner Bros' current operations or with its theatrical model for major films, but at the same time, Netflix has mentioned that theater "windows will evolve" years after the deal is completed.

Personally, I think Comcast would have been a safer bet for Warner Bros. to make a deal with as they were looking to acquire the Studios and Streaming assets themselves. Plus, Comcast would have control of the film rights to many IPs like Harry Potter, DC and Game Thrones, in fact, they would have been able to turn Marvel Super Hero Island at Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure into, a DC Super Hero Island. Although, if Islands of Adventure is looking for a replace for its outdated Marvel land right now, my Nickelodeon Studios theme land proposal would do nicely. Elsewhere, Paramount was looking to buy all of Warner Bros. Discovery: Studios, Streaming, and Cable, but I think real crime about Paramount's failure is the fact that there won't be a Batman vs SpongeBob until we're all dead. Before I go, I want to congratulate Netflix and Warner Bros on being able to make a deal together, and it's one that has eclipsed the deal Disney and Fox made back in 2019. Netflix Execs have said that the "Warner Bros. Deal" is No AOL Time Warner Fiasco in the Making, and to that all I can say is: "You better be right Netflix, or the 'E' in AEW might same day stand for "Extinct."
