It amazing how everything can change within a week. The LIRR strike lasted way shorter than Double Hollywood Strike three years ago, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert concluded last night on CBS, the Democrats have revealed an autopsy of their deceased 2024 presidential campaign, and we here at KlicKNet have done a major overhaul, or retooling, or restructuring, or revision, or whatever you call it, for the budget for our independent short film: Rhodey, NY. Let's just say we shaved off $1,000 that way the mountain will be one less higher for us to real our goal. There's gonna be a overhaul and/or retooling of our project Rhodey, NY which we hope will fit with the overall creative, this will require us to pivot away from the idea of shooting in New Jersey, and do everything in New York City. We can't tell you all the new details of what's going on behind the scenes, so this is all the information I'll leave you with, let's now check out an all-new 5-Day Rounder which has the right kind of news for KlicKNettars who've had a busy week.
It's Flashback Friday once again and we know which classic episode of FakeTV Box we want to showcase this week, in celebration of our show's 5th Anniversary. Before we do, I wanna point out we plan to hold a 5th Anniversary Livestream on Friday, August 14th, followed two-day LIVE coverage of D23 2026 August 15th and August 16th. This a format that came out of the blue several weeks and it allows FakeTV Box to, once again, go LIVE for three days straight during D23 Weekend. Anyway, let's watch one of our favorite reaction episodes from last year, that being when we reacted to the final trailer of Disney's Zootopia 2.
Our Inside Scoop this week is a recap and review of the Marvel Television Special Presentation — The Punisher: One Last Kill, now streaming on Disney Plus. After that, I'm gonna do exactly what I did last week when we talked about the Daredevil: Born Again Season Two Finale, give my overall thoughts about One Last Kill because it's always to try something that I have done before on the KlicKNet website, so let's begin. WARNING: This piece may contain spoilers, so if you haven't seen The Punisher: One Last Kill yet, stop reading now. But if you would like to continue at your risk, then be my guest.
The special presentation begins with Frank Castle cooped up in a small apartment in Little Sicily, Manhattan, New York; which is by the way is a made-up neighborhood when you try to google it. The neighborhood has become overrun with crime; for example: a gang stealing homeless man's dog and lets it get run over. We see that many other people who are fortunate enough to even have a home, are trying to get off the streets and away from these gangs. Meanwhile, Castle deals with a lot of PTSD which all began with the deaths of his family and he's been trying to avenge them ever since as the brutal vigilante known as The Punisher. But the trauma has been too much for him and Castle is haunted by hallucinations of people from his past. Drugs, alcohol, and staying in shape don't do the trick, so after locking up his Punisher gear, Castle goes to his family's graves to commit suicide, but he's stopped by a hallucination of his daughter Lisa. Can I just that these scenes in the opening minutes of the special presentation are very impact because if you've ever had mental health issues or had suicidal thoughts of killing yourself, you can feel the pain that Frank Castle has suffered over the years. What the graveyard scene teaches us that there two sides of Frank Castle, the one that take lethal actions against the criminal underworld and the one whose life is full of dead people and he's struggling to find a way out.
Castle walks throughout the chaotic streets of Little Sicily, haunted by an apparition of his military friend Curtis Hoyle. When he reaches his apartment complex, he is confronted by a crime lord named Ma Gnucci, she is the matriarch of the Gnucci Crime Family, who are believed to be the last criminals involved in the deaths of Frank Castle family. It is revealed that Castle murdered Ma's husband and three sons, and now she seeks revenge, so therefore she has placed a bounty on Castle's head and every criminal in NYC is loading up so they can be the one to punish The Punisher! See what I did? Castle returns home where he sees a vision of his friend Karen Page, who scolds Castle for his failures but also consoles him not to give up. That's when the real fun begins, for probably 100 criminals enter the apartment complex and attack residents while they're looking for Castle. Frank's room is set on fire, and he begins to make his escape out of the complex and along the way, he ruthlessly dispatches most of, if not all, the criminals. We see one of the greatest fight sequences in the MCU, it could be ranked in the Top 10 or Top 15, as there's been many amazing fight scenes in the MCU and #1 will always be the Portals Battle in Avengers: Endgame.
Anyway, Frank fights his way to the rooftop before jumping off and when he makes it to the ground he pursue Ma Gnucci, but the chaos in the streets is become very violent and families are desperately trying to escape. So Frank Castle does the most selfless and noble thing in the world, he chooses to let Ma go and runs off to protect local shop owner Dre, his wife Debbie, and their daughter Charli from getting killed. Once the family is safe, Charli gives Castle a paper rose which he later puts on Lisa's grave, it seems this experience has made Frank Castle realized his work as the Punisher is not yet done, as the buttholes of NYC continue to run amok. In the closing moments, that same S.O.B. who killed the homeless man's dog is still F'ing with the homeless man, but he is soon stopped by Frank Castle who shows off a new Punisher costume and arsenal. He stops the gang from attacking anymore innocent people and kills their leader, which the Dog has been avenged. This was a really epic presentation and I'm rating it 9.0/10 because it has two parts that were written and shot really well, Part 1 presented Frank Castle at his most vulnerable, and Part 2 presented him at this best. Now the march is on to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, coming to theaters July 31st, that's when we'll see Frank Castle next time in the MCU.
