Good News! KlicKNet Productions is hard at work making a new campaign video for Rhodey, NY. In fact, we might actually make two videos, one explaining how much funding we need and another one explaining how people will be rewarded for their donations. Late last night, we made some changes to the script of the film as there were dialogue and actions that we realized we don't need, so its officially 20 pages even and with that it's officially double the size of the NickCam script which was ten pages. In case we haven't put the GoFundMe link of Rhodey. NY's fundraiser on our website, we'll make sure to put up right after this week's 5-Day Rounder.

Our Inside Scoop this week is a quick update on the ongoing Paramount–Warner Bros. Discovery saga. WBD is in an agreement right now to be acquired by Paramount Skydance for $111 Billion Dollars and we've seen a coalition of states led by California who are looking to challenge the deal. A lawsuit, which will be joined by New York, Colorado, Oregon, Nevada, Washington, Connecticut and Tennessee, aiming to block the merger is expected to be filed within the new few weeks. However, regulators in over a dozen countries around the world have signed off on the deal; this also includes the European Union, a major surprise to everyone in the Hollywood Business, and a huge surprise to me because from my perspective is seemed like the European Union would have been opposed.Sources say that the merger faces "Another Hurdle Looms in the U.K." for now it will have to get clearance from U.K.’s competition regulator, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). It is a possible they the CMA will choose not to block the deal but will throw in an extra hurdle that the merger will have to pass.
The deadline for the CMA to announce its decision over whether it will approve the deal or refer the merger for a more in-depth probe is August 7th, still it could be extended to longer period of time. The European Commission has until July 7th to make a decision themselves and they will likely ask Paramount to make certain remedies to allay monopoly fears. The nature of these remedies is yet to be determined, but they could include Paramount exiting its international distribution deal with Universal Pictures; and divesting some of its children’s TV network assets to clear any regulatory hurdles in the EU. I understand that for some KlicKNettars reading this piece, these all seem like boring old facts, but to me it's important to know where we at right with the proposed merger of Paramount–Warner Bros. Discovery. Things seems to be swinging in favor of Paramount CEO David Ellison and the Trump Administration, but try to remember that State Attorney Generals will try to block the deal, and if Democrats win control of the House and Senate this November, they will try to do everything in their power to ensure Paramount and Warner Bros. stay separate.
