Wkly Hit List is BACK KLICKNETTARS! We had a week off from our website to dish out new content on our YouTube channel. FakeTV Box has done an amazing reaction episode on Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday which has become one of the most-viewed episodes in the show's 5-year history. Speaking of Marvel Studios, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is in theaters now and boy did it do AMAZING in its first weekend. Already, the Tom Holland-centered film has made $1 Billion Dollars at the box office in less than a week, drawing the same kind of crowd Avengers: Endgame drew back in 2019. Once can only wonder what's its gonna be like when Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters just before Christmas. I do wanna point out casting for the 'X-Men' Reboot produced by Marvel Studios has slowly begun to be revealed. Three famous characters have already found actors to play them, but we have a feeling that there's more to come in the next few weeks, especially with the 2026 D23 Event coming up. We'll continue this discussion right after a brand new 5-Day Rounder.
Next weekend is a very important weekend for the entire KlicKNet brand, FakeTV Box will be going LIVE for three straight days. On August 15 and 16 at 9AM EST, the show will have FULL D23 Coverage, and assuming how things went during the Marvel Studios Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con a few weeks ago, we might be in more for a huge surprise as Marvel fans. Then on August 17, FakeTV Box Celebrates its 5th Anniversary LIVE at 4PM EST, and we're going to try to get viewers involved by sending shoutouts on social media and questions about the show that will be answered LIVE. We are continuing the celebration of the 5th Anniversary through Flashback Friday on this website. The episode we are presenting right is our LIVE Day One Coverage of D23 2024 and it serves as the most-viewed livestream ever produced by KlicKNet Productions, check it out.
Our Inside Scoop this week is a quick update on the pending merger of Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery. A lot has changed the last time we talked about the merger, according to Wikipedia, the name of the new company if the merger is finalized will be "WarnerMount," which sounds like they're merging the WB and Paramount logos in into one, and they're probably gonna do once the merger is finalized. Both a coalition of 12 states led by California and Writers Guild of America have filed lawsuits, seeking to block the proposed Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition. Many different people in Hollywood shown their support of these lawsuits for they do not, I REPEAT NOT, want to see a crossover between Batman and SpongeBob. Everybody believes this is bad for the entire industries in Film, TV and Entertainment, those responsible for making Movies and Shows and those who consume the Movies and Shows. But that's not all because David and Larry Ellison announced they were being sued by a Paramount Skydance shareholder who alleged they cut an “illegal” deal with the current President of the United States, Orange Thanos, to secure U.S. governmental approval for the takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery, that sounds like some out of the TV Shows Scandal or Veep, could you even imagine if they did episodes on the subject. Last month on July 20, we learned that a federal judge by the name of Araceli Martínez-Olguín, ordered Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery to halt their $111 Billion merger for at least two weeks, allowing the states that are challenging the deal more time to see their case through in court.
Then after that, she extended the temporary restraining order for an additional 14 days, meaning it would last until August 17. The Paramount-WBD deal was able to get approval overseas by the European Commission on July 22nd, however it was two days later on July 24 that both companies agreed to extend the deadline for completing the proposed merger until June 1, 2027, allowing more time for regulatory reviews and ongoing litigations. So then we come to July 31 last week where Paramount Skydance, as well as Warner Bros. Discovery, pitched to have the trial of the merger on November 4, 2026, while the state attorney generals leading the Coalition of 12 States and the Writers Guild of America proposed for an April 5, 2027 trial. In the end, Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín wrote on August 4 that the Paramount & Warner Bros. trial was scheduled to take place from March 2 to March 19, 2027. In a way, the good guys won and not only have the litigations and the upcoming trial pushed the merger back to 2027, but beginning September 30, Paramount will also be required to pay Warner Bros. Discovery shareholders $7 million per day until the merger is finalized. This might give you KlicKNettars the impression that the deal will be scrapped before the June 1, 2027 deadline rolls in, but we all have to ask the question: "What happens to Paramount and Warner Bros.
