Our Inside Scoop today concerns the National Football League. With the 2026 NFL Season less one week away, it's never too early to know who might be drafted in the 2027 NFL Draft. Sports analysts say that when the Draft comes to National Mall in Washington, D.C., it’s gonna be ALL ABOUT the Quarterbacks. Jordan Reid, not the Jordan Reid who played the original version of Sweet Dee Reynolds in the unaired pilot of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia! GOOGLE IT! I’m talking about the Jordan Reid who’s a college football and NFL Draft analyst for ESPN, he wrote a 2027 Mock NFL Draft article last week that runs down his own preseason first round predictions. We have had time looking through all of these predictions and lemme just say, they’re exactly what I believe is going to happen next April in Washington. The college football season which starts a few weeks earlier than the NFL season is like an audition for many different players to impress the Pros. Next year’s Class of Quarterbacks is considered to be one of the most-packed classes in recent memory, and three quarterbacks have made it to the top of the list of Jordan Reid, the ESPN analyst. So with that in mind, we’re going to do a quick review on these quarterbacks and which NFL team may end up next year.
Jordan Reid writes that with the No. 3 Overall Pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, my New York Jets will select CJ Carr, QB, Notre Dame. CJ’s first season as a starter last year turned out to be the best despite having only 12 career starts, he is believed to be a ‘capable passer’ who does a great job distributing the ball to players as well as syncing his feet, eyes and throwing motion. Should Notre Dame win the College Football National Championship this season, that would score CJ Carr some massive points and maybe a better position in next year’s draft. My New York have been dying to get their hands on a proper franchise quarterback for decades, and CJ might be their ticket to the promised land.
Jordan Reid writes that with the No. 2 Overall Pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals will select Arch Manning, QB, Texas. As the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, Arch has the makings of becoming the next top star of NFL, but he still has a lot to learn before he's ready for Primetime. Last year, he has a very slow start to his season, but in mid-October his development took a really big leap which could lead Texas to a championship this season. The Arizona Cardinals might have trouble on who's gonna be their starting quarterback of the future. Between the rookie Carson Beck and the veteran Jacoby Brissett whose contract is expiring, I'd say they're gonna need some new MAN POWER, and that where Arch MANnning comes in and wipes out the competition.
Finally, Jordan Reid predicts that the Cleveland Browns will trade most of their picks to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for the No. 1 Overall Pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, which would give them the opportunity to select Dante Moore, QB, Oregon. A lot people, including my New York Jets, believed that Dante Moore would enter last April's Draft but he choose to stay with Oregon for one more year to improve his skills. Moore is the kind of quarterback with squeaky-clean mechanics, and analysts believe his accuracy truly shined in his first year as a starter. Cleveland might be the best fit for in the NFL because right now the Browns are going to have some serious quarterback trouble this season as Shedeur Sanders is not improving at the level they need him to improve, and Deshaun Watson will be out the door at the end of the season. It's worth pointing out that Browns are on a youth movement thanks to their past draft, so you would think they might take another swing at that elusive franchise QB next year. Should they draft Dante Moore, he will be surrounded by young players and bring his stellar college play to the NFL, which could turn things around for the Cleveland Browns in heartbeat.
